Funeral Obsequies of Abraham Lincoln
The captains of industry and leaders of the community, including Nathaniel Wheeler, Elias Howe Jr., and P.T. Barnum, joined together as a committee to memorialize President Lincoln on April 19, 1865. Bridgeport joined the nation in supporting the war, and they joined the nation in morning their wartime President and leader. (number unknown)
