Lady's Companion Sewing Kit
Small sewing kits were an essential part of every woman's and every soldier's survival kit. This small leather kit belonged to P.T. Barnum's daughter, Caroline. Many women worked sewing for ladies aid societies, but most also sewed personal articles at home for loved ones involved at the war front. (No. 54)
