Egyptian Exhibit

Many items in The Barnum Museum's collections pertain to Egypt. P.T. Barnum housed mummies in his American Museum in New York City and his wife donated Pa-Ib, the museum's own mummy, in 1896. View the items below and keep in mind that a trip across the globe would be unthinkable for the grand majority of the American population during Barnum's time. Many of these items would have been considered oddities simply because they were unknown.
